My birthday photos

I had a super birthday last Monday. Thanks for everyone's well wishes. It was a magical autumn day - one right out of the box as they say. So we packed up and went down to our favourite island spot for the day. No plans, just go where the winds took us.

Of course I had to wonder who's birthday it was as we diverted off to take a certain girl going through her "horsey" phase for a pony ride. Well worth the diversion as Katie has not stopped talking about "Candy" (the horse!) since. Den and I had to tag team as it was getting dizzy going around and around cause she did not want to get off! LOL!

Then it was time to set up camp, let the munchkins run and play and Den and I sit and soak up the relaxing atmosphere that we always find at Phillip Island. I tried out my new camera (yes! Read entry from my photo blog) and really enjoyed these two shots and Hugh and Katie spent ages jumping off the wall onto the beach.

These two shots were taken with my Powershot. This camera will always be a best buddy, if for no other reason that the swivel screen that allows me to take shots where no human neck could or should go! I did take a change of clothes for the children (thinking they would get dirty) but not thinking they would go swimming - clothes and all. But such was the weather. They particularly delighted in these rock pools as the tide was coming in. Above is the before shot and below the after shot. So much fun could not be had anywhere else as the squeals of delight accompanied each incoming wave.

We stayed until dark and I had fun trying out the new camera with an amazing sunset. My favourite time of day and I think well worth the wait. If you would like to see more photos, stop by my photo blog.

Yeah!! Beautiful photos! I'm glad you had a wonderful day. I was just commenting to Terry that it's autumn there and you are still wearing shorts!!!! I'm thinking we need to move somewhere warmer. Just as I say this, Terry informs me that Jamaica has a WalMart! LOL

A new camera? Leaving me alone in the world of the powershot? I saw nikon is coming out with a D5000 SLR that has a swivel screen and does video. I'm pretty sure it's what I'll be asking for for my birthday.

Glad you had a nice day!
