Inspired by Leah

My wonderful friend Leah writes so well. I just love reading her blog. Her response to the above question bought a great big smile to my face and of course .... got me thinking. 2008 for me was a mixed year ... a year of change and change is always tough. When I chat to close friends locally about "stuff" going on in my life, they are surprised "really!! You'd never know from your blog". So there were many good things that happened - personally my scrapping life went to a whole new and exciting level; Katie adjusted over the months to being in care and has thrived; and Hugh well, being presented with "Student of the Year" pretty much sums up his year. We are so proud of both of them. Yet despite all this it has been a very challenging year with many bumps in the road and turns that I was not prepared for. So in answer to the above set question, I could not state one memory but an overall feeling that I have done some hard yards and come up trumps. I have learnt lessons and grown from them. And perhaps the most important of them all is through it all these three people you see in the photo below mean the world to me and are my world. That is what I take with me from 2008.

You said this so well! I think our blogs just *scratch the surface* of our lives. I've enjoyed reading about your wonderful family and take comfort in the little tidbits of your life that mirror mine!
I can't wait to read about 2009!
Thanks for being such a good listener and for understanding when I'm not posting or commenting but still being loyal with your comments in return. It's all the hard stuff getting in the way!

Your blog always brings comfort of a friendship so far away and one that may never see us meeting each other....and yet, through your posts I feel as if I do know you and your charming little family! With all the struggles in 2008, I look forward to this new year with anticipation of much good and improvement. We need to remember that struggle and change bring growth and we can find peace in that!! Happy New Year, my friend!
