Friday Love Letter - on a Monday!

Can you guess my answer to the above question? I have responded to these questions before, I believe it to be a wonderful exercise, for me as much as the children. Today while reading Laura's blog I was reminded of them again, loved her response and decided to write one of my own.
I was a big traveler before I married. One of my favourite destinations was Africa. I loved it so much I went back to live and work/teach for a couple of years in the mid 90s. In one sentence - it changed my life. As I often say to people, you go there to do good but in fact it is you who walk away the richer for the experience. And rarely a day goes by even now, in which my thoughts do not turn to the amazing continent and the deep impressions it made on me. A couple of years ago I did the scrap page with the quote "part of my heart remained ... my soul never left". I would love for my children to one day experience something like that.

I've never been to any part of Africa, but I would love to go. I'm glad you had such a wonderful experience with it.

Helen, I soooo know what you are talking about! My husband is born and brought up in Kenya, we lived there for 1.5 years and Freya is born there as well. There is no other place that makes me feel like Africa does. It is the sounds, the atmosphere the Hakuna Matata philosophie eventhougfh there is so much hardship there is more joy to make up for it! Love your photos and pages!!!
