Happiness is ....

Happiness is forgotten gift vouchers. I now have the remaining three books - woohoo. No more being number 346 on the library waiting list. Goodbye world, I am going into hiding for some time ;)

Happiness is having kept my childhood copies of some Enid Blyton books in the hope that one day I may have children that would read them. That day has come and my heart is glad. Hugh loved it, giggled in some parts out loud and this morning awoke early so he could lie in bed and finish reading it before school.

Happiness is reading! I know... I know...another shot of Katie pretending to read but you have no idea how happy it makes me. She LOVES books! We went to the library as usual on Wednesday, I had not planned to borrow any books just attend story time so I did not take our library bags. Jinxed myself hey! Look at the stash she borrowed and then proceeded to plough through upon returning home!

Happiness is a good book! So what are you currently reading?

Oh I love to find forgotten gift cheques, but the last I found were over their date, grrrrrrr, and it were perfume cheques, luckily you've found it in time. I don't know these books but I'm glad you are happy with it, :-)

It's so funny that you should write about this now! We are going through a thing with James right now, where he's reading everything in sight (including the dictionary!) and last night he decided that he's going to start reading the books on our shelves! He started to read, " The Mammouth Hunters" (from the Clan of the CaveBear series) so now we are confronted with "what is appropriate for an eight year old to read"!! He has the reading ability to read anything. Aptitude-wise that's wonderful, but it creates a different kind of problem! We don't want to tell him that he "can't" read anything, but obviously there are some things he shouldn't be getting into! For the most part that series is OK, though there are small parts that are sexually explicit. We're trying to figure out how to handle this one! What I'd give to have a kid that wants to read "kid books".....oh, he does his share of that too! Don't get me wrong, I'm THRILLED that he loves to read, as I never was a reader as a child! I truly believe that reading is the one thing we benefit most from throughout life!!

I love to see the pictures of Katie "reading" and think it's so cool that Hugh is reading your old books. It's just another link that you two share!! Happy reading!

That is fantastic. I can't wait for the day, Lilly and Luke "discover" all the books I loved growing up.
I hope you enjoy the Twilight series. I read them recently, and I spent days curled up on the couch reading, much to the annoyance of my hubby.

Hi Helen!! I am so happy to be blogging again!! I love that you are a "reading" family, that is so important in life. And I am currently reading "Greatest Blessings" by Kate Gosselin from the show Jon & Kate Plus 8!! So interesting to me with the whole infertility issues and besides reading about their struggles with 6 babies at a time makes me feel sooo much better only raising twins! LOL!!

Yes, that photo of Katie is so adorable! Nick used to read a lot too, but really doesn't anymore except history books about WW 2. I'm just between books now and I love that part! Yes, seems silly isn't it, but I always find it so exciting to choose the next book I'm going to read. And I have lots and lots and lots of them, so it isn't easy to choose one! This one... no, maybe that one, or should I...
The last book I've read was rather a sad one about a young men who had AIDS. It was written by Barbare Peabody. So now I'm really of to something scarry (Stephen King has a new one) or cheerful one. Well, I'm of to my bookshelfs!
