Mother of the Day Award!!

Okay...I am feeling really pleased with myself this afternoon .... as you can gather by my inflated title! Hahaha! I did good today. With having to drag the children to work a couple of days this week, I went all out today for a memorable school holiday adventure. First we went to Bunnings (hardware store) and did more craft. That was one of Hugh's requests these holidays. Today was paddle pop boxes. Katie did so well and the children were thrilled with the end result. We met our old neighbour and great friend who works there Louis. We had also arranged to meet Charlene, Jed and Maxine there, so afterwards we went off to McDonalds for lunch and a big play to burn off some of that energy. Upon entering there, however, Hugh nearly hyperventilated when he saw the happy meal toys were none other than "Bionicles". Yikes! Munchkin was pretty happy with her Strawberry Shortcake toy as well. Then, seeing as it has been raining, I realised this morning that Katie had no suitable winter footwear. We stopped off at the Rivers store and quickly picked up (as promised last winter) a pair of boots. Man! She was ssssssssoooooooo happy! Get a load of that pose! Am I in for trouble in ten years or what!!! If I am not already! Hahahaha! Then off to the library...wow! Wendy you would have been so excited! It was "insect mania" alright!!! and the kids were thrilled to learn all about Australian invertebrates. The fellow doing it from Wild Action was fantastic and if you click here you can see all the insects, spiders and crocs they got to pet. Once again the local newspaper photographers were there and even though the request was for the little girl in the pink dress - she would not have a bar of it. I was so proud of Hugh....he thought they were joking when he was told to hold a crocodile for the camera. Whoa! Katie gradually warmed up and even was "bery bery brave" to have a bug climb on her. Now..back to my blog title....do you think I deserve Mother of the Day Award??? LOL! Come on!!
