Not once but twice!!!!!!

There was great anticipation about the park last evening....seeing as we had missed out last Friday. I decided to take my tripod and try and get some lovely shots at the evening hour. Off I went as the boys kicked the ball and Katie just ... well was Katie (see video below). Then disaster struck. Wailing....uncontrollable tears.....a screaming, "OW! OW! OW!" .... over and over. It was Katie. Thinking maybe she had been naughty....I reluctantly packed up and went over. Nope! She had been bitten by not one but two bull ants in her attempt to climb the tree. Yikes! (If you are unsure about bull ants read the entry below when just a month ago it was yours truly wailing "ow ow ow!") She was inconsolable and the memory of the pain of just one bite was fresh in my mind! Denis thinks our Friday nights at the park are doomed....me, well....this happened the last time I took my tripod ie. the teeth through the lip incident. *SIGH* I don't think I was meant to use my tripod at the park! It suits me much better to be sitting on the picnic blanket cradling my girl and rocking back and forth. Such was the evening hour.

I'm so sorry. Don't give up on the tripod. Maybe "three" times is a charm. Try again next week. . . ?

OUCH!! I know that hurts...poor Katie. Don't you dare give up on the park though...Katie will learn to keep her eyes and ears open as to what is going on around her...Some of them learn sooner than others. Michael stepped in fire ant nests to many times to count before he finally learned to look where he is standing and walking. Remember we learn from our mistakes and Katie is learning. I love the photos you took...the pelican and duck were really sweet!! Love the water droplets flying off the duck. Thank you for sharing and I hope and pray next time at the park there will be no mishaps, just more beautiful videos and photos!

poor katie! i don't know what a bull ant is, but based on your description it sounds like a bite from one really hurts. again, your shots are gorgeous!! don't give up on the tri-pod. you've inspired me to bust mine out, i haven't used it yet with my new camera, it's something i need to start doing.

Poor baby!!!! If you were a good mother, you would have made sure there were NO bull ants!! Sound familiar?? Goose poop....bull ants...well, you know. I don't think I would blame the tripod....blame Den for not keeping the kids home with him, while you practiced using the tripod. Remember, blame SOMEONE else...SOMETHING else. Anyway, hope you have better luck next time. I just about buried my tripod in the snow on Sunday...at the graveyard. It doesn't swivel right, and I hate it. I blame Brett. He made me take Lexi.
