Frantic Friday

I knew today would be busy...but all in a good way. We left early and set off to Casey Arc (YMCA) - Katie went into the creche and Hugh did karate. I have to admit to being a little disappointed in the karate - out of an hour and a half he did about 30 minutes. The rest of the time was spent outside doing a type of treasure hunt. But he enjoyed those few minutes of learning some cool moves. And then of course there is me....the only Mum staying but as long as my boy wants me I will be there for him. We then went to the library for the finale of the Summer Reading Program. We listened to a good talk from an Australian junior fiction writer and then Hugh got presented with his certificate. I had then planned to treat them at a McDonalds close by. My dear friend Andrea (see above) sent message for us to drop in at a party for her daughter Chantelle at a different McDonalds. So next destination was there and the kids and I were all starving by this stage and enjoyed some wonderful junk and a great play and chat. Andrea had organised for the wonderful Olga to do face painting (some of you may recall the amazing work she did on Hugh and Katie last year) and it was a privilege and delight for us all to get our faces painted once more. Thanks Andrea! We then came home and set up the tripod and after several out takes, finally scored some fun shots! Happy weekend everybody!

I was thinking about your kids - and face painting - the other day. I cannot imagine getting Caroline to sit still long enough for that! But, I love Katie's face painting adventures!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

I think face painting is so nifty. I wish it had been popular when my girls were little... such fun!

Your Y is so fantastic. I know I've said that before but it blows me away.
Hugs to the Big and the little!
